The judges of this year’s Shipston in[nbsp]Bloom gardening[nbsp]competition were[nbsp]hugely impressed with[nbsp]the colourful[nbsp]spectacle that[nbsp]awaited them as they[nbsp]began the process of[nbsp]assessing the town’s[nbsp]gardens, containers[nbsp]and allotments.[nbsp]
Homes in the aptly named Greenfield Road and Greenfield[nbsp]Close snatched the overall town front garden awards (medium[nbsp]and large), while the overall winning rear garden was found in[nbsp]Hawthorn Way. The Household Waste site was commended[nbsp]for an excellent display, just missing out on first place in the[nbsp]public places category to the Day Centre at the Ellen Badger[nbsp]Hospital.
“”Thanks to all the keen gardeners who helped make this[nbsp]competition so enjoyable to judge. Thanks also go to the[nbsp]judges themselves as well as the local organisations which[nbsp]support Shipston in Bloom” SIB member, Mal Lawrence said.
All winners and runners up will be invited to a presentation[nbsp]evening in the autumn.
