New clinic opens

Keith Douglas, pictured, was one of the first patients to experience the services at the Ellen Badger Medical Unit (EMBU) when it opened on 5th November. The new day-case medical care service at the Ellen Badger is starting as a six-month pilot scheme and will offer a range of treatments and procedures that up to now many people, like Keith, have had to travel to Warwick to receive. All patients need to be referred to the EMBU by their GP. South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust will be closely monitoring the pilot to assess its effectiveness.

Keith said: ‘I was delighted to have my infusion here. I used to have to go to Warwick Hospital, which required setting aside a significant part of my day. Attending my appointment here has shortened my journey and allows me to feel much more relaxed while being cannulated, enabling me to get back to the rest of my day more quickly. I saw some familiar faces and some new ones, all providing a consistently high standard of care.’
