Shipston Town Council has recognised the importance of taking steps to address the ecological crisis affecting our world and has drawn up a plan to help us take steps to tackle the decline of biodiversity in Shipston. This councilled plan is not a one-off, but a first step towards a town-wide action plan owned and drafted by the community and involving the residents of our town.
Green areas of Shipston owned or leased by the Town Council are where we have the highest level of influence, followed by areas controlled by Stratford District Council or Warwickshire County Council. Other stakeholders include schools, sports clubs, businesses, churches and residents.
Ideas which could be used to increase biodiversity might include wildflowers in the grass verges, hedgehog corridors on housing estates, nest boxes for birds and bats, cutting back on light pollution, planting pollinator-friendly flowers or litter-picking. If you are interested in finding out more about the Action Plan, please contact Hilary Kelly

We are hoping to hold a meeting in April.
